Forget. Rush. Realize. Return. A Creative Rhythm.
A visual diary of what it means to come back to the process
The level of presence we bring to the work shapes the work we make.
When I’ve been away from drawing for a while, that’s the first thing I forget.
I rush to get to the end, forgetting how to pay attention. You could say I’m performing attentiveness.
But forgetting is part of the process.
Forget.
Rush.
Realize.
Return—to what’s always there.
This time, a little slower.
Below: process shots of a commission I did a while back. Far from perfect, just trying to remember (again) how to see.

Lately, I’ve picked up the pencil again, and it feels… sorta different. Like the lines aren’t as clean. My presence isn’t quite there.
Yet.
And it’s frustrating.
I wonder if I’m losing my skills from disuse, or if they’re just buried deeper—waiting for me to slow down enough to catch up with them again?
I’m trying to figue it out—attention, and presence, how to keep making things without rushing to get to the end.
If you’ve found your own way into that, or are still circling it, I’d genuinely love to hear.
I learn so much from what other people share.
